The Sandy Jones Invitational brings together five of the top amateur bagpipe players in the country to Charleston to compete in a Great Highland Bagpipe Competition.

The Pipe-Major Sandy Jones Invitational is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The SJI also sponsors the Charleston Indoor Games, a day-time event for amateur bagpipers, and provides scholarships to those that show enthusiasm and dedication to their craft.
The Scott-Vollrath Piobaireachd Trophy
The winner of the Piobaireachd portion of the competition is awarded the Scott-Vollrath Piobaireachd Trophy

Slow Air/Hornpipe/Jig
Piobaireachd
in front of an Adjudicator and an audience and an overall winner is then selected.
The Competition is usually held in the evening at the Citadel, in Charleston.
